NYU Pavement Pieces is a project of New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute.
Pavement pieces tells the stories of New York City and its neighborhoods. They celebrate communities and expose what’s not working. They give a voice to people whose voices are disappearing from shrinking newspapers.
These talented students come from all over the country and the world. They have two things in common, they want to be journalists and they want to learn in New York City.
Pavement Pieces will change and grow as this next generation of journalists, explore the most dynamic, vibrant, diverse city in the world, and the people who call it home.
